Bodhisattva Arya Bala-the embodiment of love and infinite compassion of all Buddhas to living beings. According to the legend, Arya Avalokiteshvara gave a great vow to save all living beings from the suffering ocean and remain in the material world until each habitant reached nirvana. And only then he went to the spiritual world of Buddhas. His power is to help living beings; it is reflected by diverse and multi-armed images. Four-armed image reveals the true nature of the deity of compassion: its two first hands are together in the heart in prayer addressed to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, to confer care for all living beings and to save them from suffering. In his hands Aryabala is holding a jewel which fulfills all desires. In his right hand of a second pair of hands he holds a crystal rosary- a symbol of his ability to liberate living beings from the ocean of samsara by means of reciting its root mantra Om Mani Padme Hum. The left hand Aryabalaholds the stem of blue lotus Utpal. Blown flower and two buds symbolize his wisdom penetrating three Times- Past,Present and Future. Sculpture is gilded, made in the tradition of ancient Buryat school of Buddhist art casting.
